The Messiah is undoubtedly the most famous of Handel’s works, and the Hallelujah Chorus (performed each year at GTV 9’s Carols by Candlelight) is one of the most thrilling and exciting choruses ever penned. To be in the audience and hear the rich sound of the strings, the joyous sound of the trumpets and the energy of the choir is unquestionably an exhilarating experience.
