The Camberwell Chorale Inc., originally the City of Camberwell Philharmonic Society, was constituted on 12th September, 1944. The Chorale was founded by Dr Herman Schildberger, who was also its inaugural Conductor, and his son, Michael Schildberger, was a former President and Patron of the Chorale.
The aim of the Chorale is to provide its members with the opportunity to perform significant choral works at the highest achievable level.
It is a non-profit organisation of approximately ninety members. It is managed by an annually-elected Committee, and is funded by membership subscriptions, fund raising events, concert takings, and some support from the Boroondara City Council.
