The Camerata Orchestra was founded in 1975 by their present conductor Douglas Heywood with Dorn Catrina as the Concert Master.

The orchestra, which now comprises up to 60 members, has been associated with the Camberwell Chorale since it was formed.    The highly talented members of this orchestra give willingly of their time and expertise to bring music of the highest standard to the audience.  Mary Johnston has been Concert Master since 1996 and under her leadership the orchestra continues to grow in strength and standard.
